AA/AS in Energy Systems Technologies/Technicians

Students in this associate degree study how to operate and regulate a building's electrical and mechanical systems with maximum efficiency, drawing on established and newer technology. The college presents it as unique among its offerings. Coursework builds competence in commercial heating, cooling and refrigeration, control theory, programming and logic, plus system installation, design and integration. Learners handle control devices from major manufacturers that are common in the field. An internship with a business gives practical experience that helps graduates find work. The program trains them to enter building automation as technicians who plan, set up, service and repair commercial control systems. Students may be awarded credit through certain technical college programs, recognized certifications and career pathway courses. Students are encouraged to meet advisors early to plan their course path.
