This Bachelor of Applied Science is aimed at people who enjoy working with computers and want a specialized career writing software. Students learn a range of programming languages in demand among employers, create applications that make business operations smoother, and work with database systems that organize and retrieve data. Two concentrations appear on the page. One centers on cloud computing, covering architecture, development and system administration through project-based classes that build teamwork and problem solving. The other centers on software development itself. Admission to the second half of the degree follows completion of a qualifying associate degree. Valencia's associate degrees in computer information technology and in software development transfer in directly, and an associate degree in another subject from an accredited school can also apply, although extra prerequisites may be necessary.
