AA/AS in Dance

The Dance degree grounds students in dance as theory, history, technique and art. Study spans technique classes, older and newer dance styles, choreography, staged performance and the history of the art. Competence is demonstrated in technical and expressive work, written research and essays, and in front of audiences. Graduates can pursue dance-related careers and further degrees. Theater Arts classes that are cross-listed can stand in for the Kinesiology Dance ones. The catalog lists the program length as 24 months, and federal financial aid approval is shown as in place. Prospective students can read the full course list and a suggested plan of study on the catalog page at Victor Valley College. Because requirements differ between pathways, it makes sense to talk with a counselor early and map out each term before enrolling in courses.
