BA/BS in Civil Engineering

Civil engineers plan, build, run and maintain much of the infrastructure that society uses every day. The department behind the major seeks to prepare graduates for changing infrastructure needs while carrying on a tradition of serving the public. Students can study across the field's main branches: managing construction, environmental and water engineering, soils and foundations, developing land, structures and materials, and transportation systems. To pursue this major, students begin in the general engineering program.
