Program details

Overview

Biological Sciences introduces students to living things, from cells to ecosystems. They study how plants and animals develop, reproduce and evolve and how organisms influence one another and their environment. The associate in science transfer degree, Option I, readies students for third- and fourth-year study in biology, environmental and resource science, chemistry, geology and earth science. It requires at least 90 credits at college level and a 2.0 average, and finishing it does not guarantee entry to a major. Classes build understanding of the scientific method and lab techniques. Graduates may go on to healthcare, teaching, research or biotechnology. Courses are offered at Walla Walla and Clarkston. Prospective students can contact the department listed on the program page, and the college financial aid and scholarship offices can explain ways to fund study.
