Overview
Washington State University delivers its History major fully online, and the College of Arts and Sciences awards a Bachelor of Arts in History on completion. Faculty teach and research across many eras and regions, from the American frontier to Europe, diplomacy, war, faith, gender and the environment.
The degree strengthens analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, research skills and information literacy. Every student takes a writing course and a capstone seminar, studies the history of the United States, Europe and the wider world, and chooses upper-level electives. A passing mark of C or higher is needed in each history course counted toward the major.
Terms begin in spring, summer and fall, each with its own application cutoff. Students also satisfy the university-wide general education core, which an associate degree transfer can often fulfill.
