Program details

Overview

The liberal arts degree gives students broad knowledge of the arts and sciences along with deeper study in one area of emphasis. Emphasis options are arts and humanities, communications and media, social and behavioral sciences, science and math, and cultural and global studies. Students pick either the college general education pattern or Cal-GETC, complete at least 18 units in the chosen emphasis with a C or P or higher, and reach a total of 60 degree-applicable units while keeping a 2.0 average. The program also lists learning outcomes that describe what graduates should be able to do. Students can consult the catalog for the complete course list, the related degrees and certificates, and the required and elective classes that make up the major. Advisors can help map a path that fits each student's goals.
