Horticulture and Plant Sciences looks at how fruit, vegetable, greenhouse and landscape plants are produced, processed and marketed. Coursework follows plants through their growth, care, harvest, quality checks and eventual sale.
Much of the learning happens in a campus greenhouse, where students pick up propagation and production skills. Because horticulture increasingly serves cities, the program leans toward landscape management and growing nursery and greenhouse stock.
