PGCert in Economics

This graduate certificate readies professionals for jobs in the public and private sectors. Students gain advanced knowledge in quantitative economics, including applied statistics, econometric methods and forecasting over time, and develop skills in managing data. The certificate requires twelve hours in four courses: regression and econometrics, applied statistical methods and forecasting, plus one more course. That fourth course can be mathematical economics, data methods, an applied project or an independent study. Admission to the certificate is separate from admission to the master's program in applied economics, and it does not guarantee a place in that degree. Applicants must already have finished an introductory statistics course. Students who took the regression course as undergraduates must replace it with another approved course.
