Singapore Citizens auto-receive the TG and have no work bond. PR and International Students must sign a 3-year bond.

The MOE subsidy received per academic year (not what you paid). Typical 2024/25 indicative AU rates: ~S$18,650 (Group 1), ~S$25,150 (Group 2), ~S$32,250 (Medicine/Dentistry).

Full years the TG was/will be disbursed (typically 3 for diploma, 3–4 for most degrees, 5 for Medicine).

Full-time work in a Singapore-registered entity post-graduation. Liquidated damages reduce pro-rata for time served.

Used to compound the 10% per annum interest. Interest accrues from the first month of the AY the grant is disbursed until termination.

How It Works

The Bond Mechanics

  • 1. Bond length: 3 years of full-time work in a Singapore-registered entity for PR and International Students. Singapore Citizens are not bonded.
  • 2. Liquidated damages: Total TG disbursed + 10% per annum, compounded at 12-month intervals from the first month of each grant's academic year.
  • 3. Pro-rata reduction: Damages are reduced by the proportion of the bond already served (e.g. 18 months of 36 = 50% off).
  • 4. Late payment: Overdue liquidated damages accrue further interest at 3-month compounded SORA + 4.5% p.a. (not modelled here).

Important Caveats

This estimator compounds each annual TG tranche separately by its own years-since-disbursement, derived from the "Years Since First TG Disbursement" value minus the tranche's year index. The MOE's official Tuition Grant Online (TGonline) system uses the exact disbursement date of each tranche, so the figures here are indicative — always confirm with MOE for binding numbers.

Annual TG amounts vary by cohort, course group, and institution. Use your actual TG Agreement or TGonline statement for accuracy.
