Founded in 1887 under the name of Cours Chaillot.
Became the Centre d'études supérieures d'histoire et de conservation des monuments anciens (CESHCMA) in 1970. Ecole de Chaillot is the Training department of the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine since 2004.
The school carries out three types of activities: the cycle of specialised studies, the application school for State Architects and Town Planners, and international cooperation activities, notably courses abroad. Some of these courses are carried out in partnership with other schools or institutes.
