Curtin Mauritius

Curtin Mauritius is a private branch campus of Australia's Curtin University, based in Moka.

It traces its roots to the Charles Telfair Institute, founded in 2004, which spent fourteen years delivering Curtin-affiliated courses to more than 2,300 students before formally becoming an official Curtin University campus on 3 May 2018 — the only Australian university campus in Africa. The campus now offers Curtin's own foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in commerce, design, communications, health and science, alongside partner pathways with Toulouse Business School, ICAEW chartered-accountancy qualifications and the PwC Flying Start Programme.

Students can transfer between the Mauritius campus and Curtin's home campus in Perth, and the Global Scholars Program lets them combine study across multiple Curtin locations worldwide for a more international learning experience. Teaching blends creative and analytical coursework with strong industry links, supported by dedicated research and learning-and-teaching offices on the Moka site.

Because it operates as an extension of an Australian public university rather than as a locally chartered public institution, Curtin Mauritius is licensed and regulated in Mauritius as a private higher-education institution, distinct from the country's own public universities such as the University of Mauritius or UTM.
