Overview

Institution Type: Community College
Control Type: Public

Central Georgia Technical College is a public technical college in central Georgia and a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia.

It operates campuses in Warner Robins, Macon and Milledgeville, along with an Aerospace Training and Sustainment Center, and delivers credit instruction, adult education and customized business and industry training in person and through distance education. The college was formed when the former Middle Georgia Technical College and the earlier Central Georgia Technical College consolidated, and it began operating under its current name on July 1, 2013.

Its programs lead to technical certificates of credit, diplomas and associate degrees, organised into five areas: aerospace, trade and industry; business and computer technologies; health sciences; public safety and professional services; and general studies. Classes are small and hands-on, and many programs are aligned with regional industries such as aerospace and healthcare.

The academic year follows a semester system with Fall, Spring and Summer terms, each with two shorter mini-mester sessions.

Free tutoring is available at the Academic Success Center on the three main campuses, and online courses run through the Blackboard learning management system. Applicants apply online or on paper, and some health programs use competitive selection.
