Overview
Owens Community College is a public two-year college serving northwest Ohio from campuses in the Toledo area at Perrysburg and in Findlay.
Its academic work is organised into four schools: Business, Hospitality Management and Public Safety; Liberal Arts; Nursing and Health Professions; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Students choose from short certificates, transfer pathways that lead on to a four-year university, and career-focused associate degrees, and the college has recently added a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for working nurses.
New students apply online, send prior transcripts for course placement and possible credit, meet an admissions advisor, register for classes and complete orientation either online or on campus. A separate step with a financial services advisor covers aid and payment options.
High school students in grades 9 to 12 can start early through the Early Admit option, and Ohio's College Credit Plus program lets eligible students take college courses while still in school.
Returning, visiting and international students each have their own entry route. The academic year runs in fall, spring and summer semesters, and online and hybrid classes sit alongside on-campus teaching.
Students who take a full course load can lock in their tuition rate for up to three years through the college's Tuition Guarantee, which helps with budgeting for an associate degree.
