At the University of Bahrain, the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture spans four years and totals 130 credits, combining core design coursework with university and college requirements, electives, and a short training component. First-year study introduces design and graphics fundamentals, after which students progress into a sequence of landscape design courses supported by classes on culture, history, geography, and the environmental conditions found across Bahrain and the broader region.
Across the degree, students build up knowledge of plants, construction materials, relevant technologies, and sustainable design practice, then put that knowledge to work through research toward a design proposal. In the final year, that proposal grows into a capstone project in which students conceptualise, develop, and detail a landscape setting relevant to Bahrain from concept through to finished presentation.
