Overview

Barbados Community College's full-time associate programme in computing gives students a solid grounding in computer applications alongside a broad base of humanities and social-science subjects, so graduates leave with technical skill and a rounded academic background. A semester-long internship places students in a business's computing environment, with a one-day weekly release, so classroom learning is tested against a real workplace early on. The programme is designed to feed graduates into programming and systems-analyst roles within information-systems departments, and it builds the practical skills and independence needed to work with minimal supervision once employed.
