The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (5-Year Integrated) program at Brandon University combines a Bachelor of Arts with a Bachelor of Education, giving high school graduates direct access to teacher education without first completing a separate undergraduate degree. It serves students with a clear goal of becoming an Early Years or Middle Years teacher in Manitoba. The Arts component follows a Liberal Arts Distributed Major with two teachable subjects, one primary and one secondary, alongside a set of provincially required courses spanning literature, mathematics, science, and geography or history. Education coursework is spread across all five years, covering areas such as teacher identity, child development, classroom management, literacy foundations, ICT in education, and Indigenous studies, and culminates in a full-time fifth year. Four field placements are embedded through years three to five, and students must pass all of them to graduate. Students choose between an Early Years (K-4) or Middle Years (5-8) specialization. Admission Requirements: Admission to the five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education program starts with Brandon University's general undergraduate requirements: Manitoba high school graduates without an M, I or E designation receive a conditional offer on submitting the application, fee and transcript, while out-of-province Canadian applicants need a minimum 60% average on their province's university-preparatory courses including English. Entry into the professional Year 5 of the program is a separate, competitive stage requiring a minimum GPA of 2.50 (C+) across both the Bachelor of Arts and Education portions, completion of the BA's 90 credit hours with 18 credit hours in a first teachable subject and 12 in a second, completion of practicum placements 01:271 and 01:371, and a valid, clean Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check dated May or later of the acceptance year; a D grade in any teachable-subject course must be retaken or replaced. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Brandon's English Language Proficiency requirement: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 per band), TOEFL iBT 86 overall (min. 20 per section), Duolingo English Test 120 overall (min. 105 per component), PTE Academic 58, or CAEL 60.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply directly to Brandon University: for Fall (September) 2027 entry the deadline is August 15, 2027, and for Winter (January) 2027 entry it is December 1, 2026. International applicants must apply earlier: April 1, 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, and August 1, 2027 for the next open Winter window (Winter 2028 entry), since the Winter 2027 international deadline of August 1, 2026 has already passed. Applications for the new academic year open October 1 each year. A late application for one term is automatically carried to the following term rather than rejected, but Brandon does not otherwise describe admission as rolling. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
