BA/BS in Computer Science

The Computer Science program at Brandon University is a Bachelor of Science offered by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, based at the John R. Brodie Science Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. The program introduces students to computing as a tool for storing, retrieving, manipulating, and presenting data, beginning in first year with the Java programming language, and builds skills in problem-solving and logical thinking that carry through more advanced coursework. Students have access to the department's computer laboratories, including the BitCave, a high-tech lab reserved for senior students. The program suits people with an interest in computers and mathematics and an aptitude for logical reasoning. It prepares graduates for careers in business, research, systems analysis, systems testing and support, and software development. As part of the Faculty of Science, the program is delivered on campus and can be paired with study in related science disciplines through the shared department.
