Overview
Assiniboine College — known as Assiniboine Community College until it adopted its current name in 2024 — is a public college based in Brandon, Manitoba, regulated by the Manitoba Council on Post-Secondary Education.
It grew out of one of the province's original vocational training centres and today operates two campuses in Brandon (Victoria Avenue East and North Hill) alongside the Parkland Campus in Dauphin and training sites elsewhere in Manitoba, including Neepawa, Russell, Swan River and Steinbach. The college delivers more than 50 certificate, diploma, advanced diploma and post-graduate programs spanning agriculture and the environment, business, food and hospitality, health and human services, technology and the trades.
Its practical nursing diploma, built to meet the entry-level competencies of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba, is its largest program by enrollment. The Russ Edwards School of Agriculture & Environment anchors a strong agriculture slate alongside the Prairie Innovation Centre for Sustainable Agriculture, and the college partners with the Brandon Police Service on its Public Safety advanced diploma.
Most credentials are conferred directly by the college rather than by an affiliated university.
Assiniboine also runs continuing studies, apprenticeship and international education programming, drawing students from across Canada and abroad to its Brandon-area campuses.
