Program details

Overview

The four-year applied degree builds theoretical and applied knowledge across community recreation, health, adapted physical activity, high-performance sport, fitness, exercise therapy, kinesiology and exercise physiology. Classroom and lab activities connect theory to hands-on practice, complemented by workplace-integrated learning placed in clinical, community, sport and recreation settings.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: One of English 12 at C+ or the Camosun English 12 alternative at C; one of Math 11 at C, or MATH 073, MATH 075 or MATH 077 at C; one of Anatomy and Physiology 12 at C or its Camosun alternative at C; and one of Chemistry 11 at C or its Camosun alternative at C. Proof of each requirement is submitted with the application, and where a letter grade is named you need that grade or better. Where the requirement names a secondary-school course, Camosun accepts its own equivalent upgrading course instead, and a C in that Camosun course covers a C+ requirement in an English 12 prerequisite. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS must clear Camosun's general college English standard on top of anything listed here — IELTS Academic 6.0 with no sub-score under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 78 with no sub-score under 19, PTE Academic 54 with no sub-score under 50, Cambridge C1 Advanced 174 with no sub-score under 169, or CAEL CE 60 with no component under 60, taken within the past two years — because the college states that its general standard applies even where a programme page shows a lower one.

Application Details

Start Date: Two starts a year: September (Fall term) and January (Winter term). Camosun lists this as an open-enrolment programme, so the intake is not capped.
Application Deadline: DOMESTIC APPLICANTS follow Camosun's college-wide open-enrolment schedule, not a date set by this programme. Winter 2027 (January start): early deadline 15 September 2026, final deadline 7 January 2027. Fall 2027 (September start): applications open 1 October 2026, early deadline 15 May 2027, final deadline 26 August 2027. Applying by the early date puts your file in front of Admissions in time for priority course registration; nothing is accepted after the final date. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS have separate deadlines: 1 June for a September (Fall) start and 1 October for January (Winter). Those dates hold only while seats remain, so a popular intake can close sooner; a later application may still be looked at if seats are open and there is time to obtain a study permit. Domestic and international applicants both apply online through EducationPlannerBC (apply.educationplannerbc.ca/camosun).
