Overview
The Engineering Bridge programs are for technology diploma grads who want to continue with third-year studies at the University of Victoria (UVic) or the University of British Columbia (UBC) to finish an engineering degree. The Engineering Bridge programs at Camosun are unique and recognized across Canada as a transition from a technology diploma to an Engineering degree (UVic) or Applied Science degree (UBC). Once accepted into UBC you can participate in the Co-operative Education option. If you decide to participate in Co-op, some work terms from your technology diploma may be transferable between institutions. There is an optional internship work term available in the Bridge that is transferable.

Admission Requirements: Admission to the Mining Engineering Advanced Diploma - Bridge to UBC is competitive: Camosun states that the number of applicants meeting the minimum GPA standard can exceed available seats, so a higher GPA than the published minimum may in practice be needed. All applicants submit one official copy each of their high-school transcript and every post-secondary transcript, regardless of relevance to engineering. They must then hold one of: a Diploma in Mining Engineering Technology from within the last five years with a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 (B) and no individual course grade below C, submitted with one official transcript; or the same diploma from more than five years ago at the same GPA and grade floor, submitted with an official transcript and a letter of intent covering work experience or professional development since graduation. The diploma must be accredited by Technology Accreditation Canada; unaccredited Canadian technology diplomas may be considered with full course syllabi. Ranking is a joint Camosun-UBC review of GPA, and UBC makes the final admission decision. No English-language test score is published for this bridge programme.

Application Deadline:Competitive-entry bridge to UBC with its own fixed dates, not the college-wide schedule. For the Fall 2027 intake the application period runs 1 October 2026 to 1 March 2027 with the document deadline on 15 March 2027; Camosun's competitive-entry table gives the same recurring window of 1 October to 1 March with documents by 15 March. Applicants are ranked on the GPA of their technology diploma at a joint meeting between Camosun and the receiving university, and the university makes the final call. Camosun's international deadline page states that the eight-month engineering bridge programmes each set their own dates rather than following the general international deadlines, so international applicants should work from the programme page and confirm with International Admissions.
