Overview
Helicopter Flight Training is a one-year Ontario Certificate offered by Canadore College at its Aviation Campus, delivered full-time and on-campus, in partnership with Helicopters Canada. The programme combines academic instruction, ground school and hands-on flight training, covering airframes, engines and systems, winter survival training, underwater egress, and chainsaw safety and tree-felling techniques. Graduates receive a Transport Canada Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence with ratings on the helicopter types they trained on, a Canadore College Pilot Preparedness Certificate, and industry-recognized certifications including First Aid, CPR, Winter Survival, Underwater Egress, Pilot Decision Making and Human Factors. Intakes run monthly. Applicants must be at least 18 years old at course completion, with recommended high school courses in physics, English, math and geography.
