Overview
This advanced certificate builds on prior programming study to deepen skills in software development, covering advanced programming practices and applied software engineering topics. The program totals 30 credits and, because of prerequisite sequencing, is not designed to be completed on an accelerated full-time-only basis, though students may add up to 15 additional credits outside the program to study full-time. It can count toward a Bachelier es sciences appliquees (B.Sc.A.) when combined with further study. The certificate is offered full-time or part-time with admission in the fall, winter, and summer terms. It suits students who already hold introductory programming credentials and want to extend their software-development expertise toward further undergraduate study or workplace advancement.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in science or applied science, or a certificate in computer science or equivalent, and must have completed INF1120 Programmation I and INF2120 Programmation II or their equivalents. Candidates enrolled in the basic computer science certificate may be admitted with a minimum of 24 completed credits and a 2.2/4.3 average. Applicants may also be admitted with at least two years of experience in software development. All candidates must have a satisfactory command of written and spoken French.
