Trades - Apprenticeship in Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship

Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship is a Canadore College programme for registered apprentices, delivered part-time on a day-release basis, in person at the Commerce Court Campus, with a Level 1 online hybrid delivery option in which theory is completed online followed by an eight-day practical block in the Motive Power shop. The programme consists of three in-school training levels, each one day per week for 36 weeks, totalling 240 hours per level, and covers engine systems, electrical, electronics and emissions-control systems, drive-train systems, and suspension, steering and brake systems. On completion of all levels and the required on-the-job training hours, apprentices are eligible to challenge the Ontario Certificate of Qualification exam for the automotive service technician trade. Admission is restricted to individuals who are signed apprentices registered with Skilled Trades Ontario.
