This AEC trains analytical chemistry technicians specializing in the analysis and quality control of inorganic compounds, at Cegep de Drummondville. Students learn to use laboratory techniques including classical wet-chemistry analysis, atomic spectroscopy, electrochemistry and chromatography to identify and quantify substances in industrial, research and other chemical-sector samples. Coursework covers fundamental chemistry, solution preparation, electrometric measurement, and laboratory safety practices for analytical work. The program responds to workforce demand in Quebec's inorganic-chemistry sector, including the battery-manufacturing industry. Delivery is hybrid, combining full-time daytime in-person laboratory work with some coursework completed online. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles as analytical chemistry technicians in industrial laboratories, quality-control departments and research facilities. The credential awarded is an AEC, a college-level vocational diploma distinct from a DEC.
