Diploma in Musique is a diploma in Music programme taught at Cegep de Trois-Rivieres in Trois-Rivières, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years. Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 15,150 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
Musique (501.A0) is a two-year preuniversity DEC at Cégep de Trois-Rivières that develops musical aptitude, including ear training, rhythmic sense, and memory, through applied instrumental study. Students choose between a jazz-pop or classical instrumental option and select among musical creation, performance, or song-and-show profiles for workshops and complementary training. The curriculum covers music analysis, theory, and solfège alongside weekly individual instrument lessons and participation in ensembles and workshops such as choral singing, chamber music, jazz vocals, stage band, and pop-jazz guitar ensemble. Instruction is available on a wide range of instruments, from strings and winds to piano, organ, and percussion, in a computer-assisted music lab equipped with two concert grand pianos. Students can take part in an international music-related trip and are exposed to the local music scene through partnerships with Festivoix and the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières. The program suits students with an active performance practice who plan to continue into university music studies.
