College of the North Atlantic's Applied Music program is a two-year diploma delivered on campus at the Prince Philip Drive campus, combining performance, songwriting, and music theory with business, marketing, and industry management studies. The curriculum is built around addressing the practical barriers musicians face in building a career: business training, entrepreneurial skills, and technical industry knowledge, alongside artistic development. Students take applied music lessons and ensemble work together with courses on the business side of the music industry, such as marketing, promotion, and self-management. The program blends studio-based practical training with classroom instruction, giving students both performance skills and the commercial grounding needed to sustain a music career. Graduates are prepared for work as performing musicians, songwriters, and independent music entrepreneurs, as well as related roles across the music and entertainment industry.
