Offered by Centennial College in Toronto, Canada, Diploma in Energy Systems Engineering Technician (Fast-Track) is a diploma in Energy Engineering programme. The programme runs for 2 semesters, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 19,167 per total (CAD 2,775 per total for local students).
This fast-track route offers qualified college or university graduates advanced standing into the second year of the programme, completing the technician diploma in two semesters. It builds understanding of different energy resources and how they are used across modern society, pairing theory with hands-on skill-building through experiential learning activities and projects. The curriculum tracks changing approaches to sustainable design and construction and their effect on the utility and construction sectors, covering small-scale energy sources including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, biomass and hydrogen fuel cells alongside energy storage systems, used to supply electricity, heat, transport and home and business heating and cooling. It also addresses net-zero building initiatives, the growing use of integrated and sustainable architecture and engineering practices, and new products that support energy management in commercial and residential settings, bringing these technologies together for use in urban environments.
