Overview
Centennial College's Graphic Design program, which has a graduate employment rate that exceeds 80 per cent, will prepare you for a multidisciplinary design career. This asynchronous graphic design program provides students with the same learning experience as the face-to-face program does, but students can learn from their own homes, with no scheduled classes to attend. Content is delivered in weekly modules, with readings, videos, exercises, discussion groups, and assignment deadlines each week. Office hours are available on a regular basis to allow students to interact with faculty in an online chat forum. Graphic Design is also offered in person. In this college graphic design program, you'll: Master industry-standard Adobe software including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; Learn creative problem solving and design thinking; Design for print, including advertisements, magazines, books and packaging; Design responsive websites, mobile apps and create exciting motion graphics Explore drawing, photography, illustration and type design; Learn professional practice skills to land a great job or start your own design business; Contribute something unique and innovative to the design community in a thesis course; Learn on the job and get course credits through an industry field placement in your final semester; Interact with industry professionals; Become a student member of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario (RGD Ontario); Learn from professors who are up-to-date and professionally active in the design industry. January Start: For students who choose the January intake, a condensed schedule is implemented to complete the program, including a break during the Winter* semester. The academic schedule for January start students will consist of classes during the Winter*, Summer*, and Fall* semesters, followed by a break during the Winter* semester. The program will then resume for another three consecutive semesters in the Summer*, Fall* and Winter*. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-applicant status at 19 or older, plus Grade 12 English at the College or University level, or a pass on Centennial's own English Admission Test with a score of 170 or 171. The programme page states only that English language proficiency is required beyond that, without publishing IELTS, TOEFL or other standardised test scores, so international applicants must consult the college's general language-proficiency page. Admission also requires attendance at a mandatory Graphic Design program admission session where applicants submit a portfolio of 15 original works in art and design across various media, including at least some hand-drawn pieces, a sketchbook showing idea development, work demonstrating an interest in typography, and a short letter describing their interest in graphic design and career goals.

Application Deadline:Centennial publishes no application deadline for this program; what follows is the Ontario college cycle that governs it. Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for a program starting in Fall 2027 the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, and applications arriving after it are still assessed, but first-come first-served while places remain. Across the Ontario college system the application opened on 26 September 2026, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and an offer must be accepted by 1 May 2027. One $150 fee covers up to five program choices. International applicants apply directly to Centennial through its own international application process and are assessed on a rolling basis across the Fall, Winter and Summer intakes; the college publishes no fixed international closing date.
