Overview
The Physical Science Certificate allows you to complete the first year for a physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science ,or geoscience degree. You will earn credits that will transfer to a degree program at post-secondary institutions across B.C. and Canada. This program will provide experiential learning opportunities to complete projects, perfom experiments and develop computer programs.

Admission Requirements: Coast Mountain College's Physical Sciences Certificate asks for English 12 and Pre-Calculus 12 each at a minimum grade of C, plus Physics 11 and Chemistry 11 each at a minimum grade of C (outstanding candidates missing Physics 11 or Chemistry 11 are still encouraged to apply and are reviewed case by case), and one further Grade 12 academic science course, such as Anatomy and Physiology 12, Biology 12, Chemistry 12, Environmental Science 12, Geology 12, or Physics 12, or Calculus 12. Physics 12, Chemistry 12, Calculus 12, and a programming course are recommended where available. The page states no language-test score of its own. English proficiency is required of every applicant regardless of citizenship. International applicants who have not completed senior secondary education, including a pass in English 12, in a designated English-speaking country must present an approved test score, with minimums tiered by program: IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (bands 5.0-6.0), TOEFL iBT overall 72-80, PTE Academic overall 52-57, CAEL overall 50-60, or Duolingo English Test overall 105-115.
