The programme runs full-time over 8 weeks at the Terrace campus, timed alongside the related Heavy Duty Equipment Technician offering, and is competency-based rather than seat-time based. To enrol, students must be registered apprentices holding a Trades Worker Identification number, have completed a recognised Level 1 in one of the heavy mechanical trades, and ideally bring around 1,000 hours of prior work-based experience, plus Grade 10-level math, English, and science.
