Overview
Conestoga's Business - Insurance diploma is a two-year, hybrid-delivery program at the Kitchener - Doon campus covering claims handling, investigation and underwriting, insurance marketing, broker and agent sales, risk assessment and professional ethics across medical, property and business coverage. An optional paid co-op placement is available to students who start in September. Students can earn up to seven credits toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and have the option to challenge the Life Licensing Qualifying Program (LLQP) industry examination; graduates can pathway into Year 3 of the International Business Management degree or Year 2 of the Accounting, Audit and Information Technology degree.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or mature-student status at 19 years of age or older. Required subjects are Grade 12 compulsory English at a C (minimum 60%) or U (minimum 50%) level, or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications (COMM1251) at a minimum of 60%, and Grade 11 Mathematics at C (minimum 65%), M University/College (minimum 55%), or U (minimum 55%), or Conestoga's Preparatory Mathematics (MATH1420 or MATH1375) at a minimum of 60%; academic strength is calculated as the average of required subject marks with a minimum of 60%. Conestoga names Business - Insurance among the diploma programs that carry the degree-level English proficiency bar, so applicants whose prior instruction was not in English must meet: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no skill below 22, PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo 120. Non-Canadian credentials require a course-by-course credential evaluation from an approved provider.

Start Date:Intake months: January and September. Start dates listed by Conestoga on 6 September 2026, for domestic and international applicants alike: September 2026 and January 2027 at Kitchener – Doon and Online. An individual campus intake may already be closed.
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
