BA/BS in Algorithms & Scientific Computing (BCS)

This Bachelor of Computer Science program, offered through Dalhousie University's Faculty of Computer Science in Halifax, concentrates on the mathematics, algorithms and high-performance computing methods used to solve large-scale computational and scientific problems. Coursework combines algorithm design with applied mathematics and computing techniques used in areas such as climate modelling and scientific research, preparing graduates for careers in scientific computing, data-intensive research and software development. The program is intended for students entering directly from high school and leads to a Bachelor of Computer Science degree. Students may pursue an Honours designation or a Minor, and study-abroad opportunities are available alongside the core program. New students can begin their studies in either September or January, giving flexibility for the start of the academic year.
