Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is the province-wide public college of Nova Scotia, Canada.
It operates a network of 14 campuses and learning centres that stretches from Yarmouth on the South Shore to Sydney in Cape Breton, together with a fully online eCampus. The college in its present form was created on 1 April 1996 under the Community Colleges Act, although its roots run back through the provincial community college system of 1988 and the Halifax Marine School of 1872.
NSCC delivers more than 140 certificate, diploma and advanced diploma programs, along with apprenticeship training, continuing education, micro-credentials and customised industry training, through its academic schools and institute: the School of Access, Business, Creative Industries and Education; the School of Health and Human Services; the School of Applied Technology and Innovation; and the Institute of Skilled Trades. Its portfolio is strongly employment-focused, with practical nursing, continuing care, early childhood education, business, information technology, engineering technologies, geomatics, marine training and the construction and industrial trades among its largest areas, and the college reports that 99 per cent of students complete some form of work-integrated learning such as practicums, co-ops or sea time.
Specialist facilities include the Centre of Geographic Sciences at Lawrencetown, the Nautical Institute at Strait Area Campus in Port Hawkesbury, the Centre for the Built Environment and the Aviation Institute at Ivany Campus in Dartmouth, and the Sydney Waterfront Campus that opened in 2024.
Several campuses offer on-campus student housing. NSCC's Applied Research division works with industry in energy, engineered technologies, geomatics, and environmental and agricultural technology, and the college is recognised among Canada's top research colleges.
