Overview
The Customer Service and Cashier Training Certificate is a 14-week training program and is designed to assist you if you have had barriers to employment. You’ll learn through customer service and cashier training courses classroom, lab, and work experience components, and receive cashier training in customer service, cashiering, communication and teamwork skills. You’ll also learn employability skills and job search techniques, and have the opportunity to obtain cashier certificates in POS Cashiering, WHMIS, and Superhost. Gain real world experience through a community practicum in the customer-service or retail field and graduate with job-ready skills.

Admission Requirements: The programme page's only stated admission condition is a preliminary interview with the instructor, required for acceptance; as with all Douglas College credentials, this sits on top of the college's general admission requirements, which the programme page does not repeat. Applicants must satisfy at least one of: British Columbia secondary school graduation or equivalent; standing one course short of that graduation; being at least 19 by the end of the first month of the first semester attended; being 17 on the first day of that semester with at least a year out of school; or holding a certificate from a special-needs programme after 12 years of schooling, or an Evergreen or Leaving School Certificate, and supply proof of English proficiency, met with IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 83, PTE Academic 56, Duolingo English Test 110, CAEL 60 or another option the college accepts. Beyond the instructor interview, no further courses, grades, portfolio or work-experience conditions are published for this certificate.

Application Deadline:Douglas College publishes college-wide application windows rather than a single date for every programme, and the domestic and international timetables differ.
