Overview
This seven-month, full-time certificate trains students to support legal professionals in law offices, corporate legal departments, government agencies, and related organizations. The curriculum runs across eight courses: an introduction to legal office procedures, litigation, family law, corporate law, wills and estates, conveyancing, a review course, and a two-week work-based practicum. Delivery is hyflex and online, with classes meeting Monday (in a hybrid format), Wednesday, and Thursday; the practicum is completed in person at an assigned work site once a student has averaged 85% across coursework. Intakes begin in March and September. UFV directs applicants to the Academic Calendar for full entrance requirements and notes the program is financial-aid eligible. Graduates come away with exposure to litigation support, family law, corporate law, wills and estates, and conveyancing procedures, positioning them for administrative support roles in law firms, corporate legal departments, government offices, insurance companies, real estate offices, and notary practices. The program suits people entering legal administration for the first time as well as office staff looking to formalize legal-sector skills through a structured, practicum-backed credential rather than on-the-job training alone.

Application Details
Start Date:March and September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply directly to UFV: applications for Fall (September) 2027 entry open 1 October 2026, for Winter (January) 2027 entry opened 1 May 2026, and for Summer (May) 2027 entry open 1 October 2026; UFV publishes no closing date for any of these and instead admits many programmes strictly in application-date order once every required document has arrived, so applying soon after opening matters more than any deadline. Grade 12 students may apply from 1 October of their graduating year and must send final transcripts by 3 August. International applicants use UFV International's own windows - 1 October to 31 May for Fall, 1 May to 31 October for Winter and 1 October to 1 March for Summer - and are likewise assessed on a rolling, first-arrived basis until each programme fills. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
