Applied Artificial Intelligence is a two-year Ontario College Diploma at Georgian College's Barrie Downtown campus, delivered through a hybrid mix of online and in-person instruction, providing a comprehensive foundation in the principles and practices that enable intelligent systems to support data-driven innovation. Students learn to collect, interpret, and analyze data, and to design, deploy, and evaluate AI solutions, applying this knowledge to real-world challenges in innovation, resource optimization, efficiency, and sustainability across industries. The curriculum builds practical skills in machine learning and data science workflows alongside the technical judgment needed to develop and assess AI systems responsibly. Students are required to bring their own Windows-based laptop meeting program-specified hardware requirements to support coursework. Graduates are prepared for roles building, deploying, and evaluating applied AI and data-driven solutions.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status, including Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 12 Mathematics (C or U). Mature students (19+), non-secondary applicants, home-schooled applicants, and those with equivalent courses, GED completion, or relevant prior post-secondary coursework or life experience may also be considered.
