Overview
This programme combines 16 months of Horizon's Ministry Leadership curriculum with a two-year Media Production diploma from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, so graduates earn both a B.A. from Horizon and a Polytechnic diploma. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Theology designation instead of the B.A. must additionally complete biblical-language coursework in Hebrew or Greek. The Horizon segment covers biblical studies, theology, Christian formation, and ministry leadership training delivered through on-campus and distance formats, including online video, modules, and directed study, while the Polytechnic segment provides applied training in media production. The pathway suits students preparing for media or communications roles within ministry or the broader media sector. As with Horizon's other accelerated Plus+ pathways, the programme is limited to Canadian citizens and permanent residents and is not open to international applicants.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The programme page carries no admission section of its own and defers to Horizon's general college admission requirements. Applicants need Grade 12 standing or equivalent with a minimum overall average of 65%, including a minimum of 65% in English 30; mature applicants aged 21 or older who fall short may be considered individually on a case-by-case basis. The college also requires a Christian conversion experience, a consistent Christian life for at least one year before enrolment, and an approved Christian character. Non-native English speakers must meet the language requirement: TOEFL iBT 86 overall with 19 minimum per section, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 6 minimum per band, CAEL 70 overall with 60 minimum per component, or CanTEST 4.5 overall. Applicants also submit official transcripts, a pastoral reference and a character reference, and pay a $50 non-refundable application fee. The programme page states its Plus+ pathway is not available to international students, who must hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residency to take that route.
