Overview

This advanced diploma concentrates on programming, teaching students to master coding for building games ranging from indie titles to AAA productions. It suits those with an interest in game development, programming and mathematics, and builds a strong C++ programming skillset across its coursework.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Direct entry is via Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, including Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U), Grade 12 Mathematics (MAP4C, MCT4C, MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U) and two further Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U courses; physics and/or computer science are recommended but not required. Mature-student, college-transfer and university-transfer routes are also accepted. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Humber's English Language Proficiency Policy, which for advanced-diploma programs sets a minimum IELTS Academic overall score of 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 (no skill below 20), or PTE Academic 53-57. Canadian citizens and permanent residents educated abroad must supply an ICAS or WES credential evaluation as applicable.

Start Date: September and January
Application Deadline: Domestic applicants (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected persons) apply via ontariocolleges.ca. For Fall 2027 entry, applications open early October 2026, with Humber offers beginning as early as November 2026. Highly competitive programs use an equal-consideration deadline of 1 February 2027: applications received by then are assessed together with no earlier offers; later applications are reviewed first-come, first-served while space remains. Fall 2027 offer acceptance is due 1 May 2027. International applicants apply directly through the Humber Web Application and are reviewed on a rolling basis, up to one year before their intended start term; no fixed international deadline is published, and applying for a study permit 3-5 months before the start date is recommended. No separate Winter/Spring institution-wide dates are published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
