Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Emergency Management Associate Certificate follows JIBC's general entry route rather than a dedicated academic threshold. Applicants who have graduated from high school apply directly; those who are at least 21 years old and lack BC Grade 12 or cannot access their transcript may still be considered as mature students under JIBC's Admissions Policy, submitting a postsecondary transcript instead if available. Every applicant must submit a roughly 250-word letter describing their interest in the program, plus an official transcript unless exempted as a mature student. The program does not publish a minimum GPA, admission average, or English/French language-test requirement on its own admissions page. Applications are accepted through EducationPlannerBC on a continuous-intake basis, with no set start dates or deadlines.

Start Date:Continuous intake
Application Deadline:JIBC runs two admission models: Continuous Intake programs (most certificates and micro-credentials) accept and review applications year-round with no fixed deadline, while Scheduled Intake programs (its bachelor's degrees, diplomas, and EMS/paramedic and law-enforcement programs) publish a specific opening and closing date for each cohort. For example the Winter 2027 cohort (starting 4 January 2027) generally opens in August 2026 and closes between early November and early December 2026, and the Spring/Summer 2027 cohort (starting 3 May 2027) opens in December 2026 and closes between early March and early April 2027. Fall 2027 dates for most Scheduled Intake programs were not yet published at the time of research. JIBC does not publish a separate international deadline; international applicants use the same program-specific dates and must also budget time for study-permit processing. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
