Admission Requirements: Admission to the Emergency and Security Management Diploma requires a high school graduation diploma or equivalent, Grade 11 mathematics with a minimum grade of C, and Grade 12 English or Grade 12 First Peoples English with a minimum grade of C. Applicants submit an official high school transcript confirming these grades along with a roughly 250-word letter describing their interest in the program and how they intend to manage their studies alongside other responsibilities. A mature-student provision lets applicants aged 21 or older without BC Grade 12 be considered for admission with registrar approval, provided they still meet the program's course prerequisites. JIBC does not publish a minimum GPA or admission average, nor a standardized English/French language-test score, for this program; the Grade 12 English grade serves as its stated language standard.
