Overview
The Leadership & Conflict Resolution Associate Certificate provides the foundations of collaborative conflict resolution, with a focus on personal awareness, before focusing on the foundations of the coaching approach. You will discover your skills and aptitudes as a leader and explore the current themes and skills associated with leadership today.
You will then deepen your understanding of the dynamics of leadership in challenging situations, and come away with practical strategies for leading teams and resolving interpersonal conflict collaboratively as a third-party facilitator. Your learning will culminate in a written assessment of a practical application of your skills and abilities.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: JIBC states there are no formal admission requirements for the Leadership & Conflict Resolution Associate Certificate: the certificate and its courses are open to anyone, with no minimum grade, GPA, or English/French language-test score published. The certificate carries 6 credits across four required components — CRES-1100 (Foundations of Collaborative Conflict Resolution), CRES-1412 (Conflict at Work: Leading Collaboratively), LEAD-1120 (Essentials of Inclusive Leadership) and LEAD-1125 (Collaborative Leadership for Thriving Teams) — plus a mail-in assessment, CRES-1550. Twelve days of in-person, online or hybrid training are required along with the mail-in assessment; JIBC recommends completing the certificate within two years and allows up to four years. No portfolio, interview, work experience, or criminal record check is stated. There are no application deadlines: applicants may apply for the program at any time, with individual courses scheduled multiple times throughout the year.

Application Deadline:JIBC runs two admission models: Continuous Intake programs (most certificates and micro-credentials) accept and review applications year-round with no fixed deadline, while Scheduled Intake programs (its bachelor's degrees, diplomas, and EMS/paramedic and law-enforcement programs) publish a specific opening and closing date for each cohort. For example the Winter 2027 cohort (starting 4 January 2027) generally opens in August 2026 and closes between early November and early December 2026, and the Spring/Summer 2027 cohort (starting 3 May 2027) opens in December 2026 and closes between early March and early April 2027. Fall 2027 dates for most Scheduled Intake programs were not yet published at the time of research. JIBC does not publish a separate international deadline; international applicants use the same program-specific dates and must also budget time for study-permit processing. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
