Applicants 19 or older without a diploma may instead pass La Cité's French-language mature-applicant test. A high-school physics course is recommended but not required. Before classes start, admitted students must have an up-to-date immunization record, including a tetanus vaccination. International applicants must hold a secondary-school diploma or baccalaureate, or be in their final year of secondary school with proof of enrolment. La Cité describes its admission process as competitive because of limited capacity, and states that admission is never guaranteed even when every published requirement is met.
