Overview

This program leads to a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary), taken as a first degree on the St. John's campus over five years: two years of prerequisite coursework followed by three years in the professional B.Ed. program, for a total of 150 credit hours. It prepares teachers for kindergarten through grade six, with coursework in English, mathematics, psychology, science, and a chosen focus-area subject, alongside school visit days and a one-semester internship placement in the professional years. The program suits high school graduates and university or college transfer students who want to become primary or elementary school teachers, and it also supports graduates moving into other leadership roles within educational, business, or industry settings.
