Admission Requirements: Mathematics cannot be chosen as a major at the time of application: applicants first choose a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts and enter under Memorial's general admission requirements, with the B.Sc. route additionally needing appropriate mathematics courses and a laboratory science (applicants without a lab science should apply BA). The mathematics major is declared afterward, on request to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, once a student has completed 15 credit hours (5 courses) including Mathematics 1001; the B.Sc. route also expects six credit hours of critical reading and writing (at least three in English), six credit hours of mathematics, and six credit hours from each of two sciences other than mathematics.
