Admission Requirements: The PhD in Education (Educational Sustainability) programme page does not itself state admission criteria and points applicants to Nipissing's graduate admissions pages, which set the general requirement for doctoral study: a Master's degree or equivalent recognised by Nipissing. Applications require official transcripts, two academic references, a resume and a statement of interest. The program is low-residency: international students who require a study permit are not eligible unless they can complete it without being resident in Canada outside its Summer Residency periods. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the graduate-program English requirement: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.5, TOEFL iBT 93 overall (minimum 20 in reading and listening, 22 in writing and speaking), PTE Academic 63 overall (minimum 60 per section), CAEL 70 overall with no band below 60, or Cambridge C1 176 overall (minimum 169).
