The Master of Environmental Science (MESc) or Master of Environmental Studies (MES) programme at Nipissing University takes an interdisciplinary approach to environmental challenges, drawing on the humanities, social sciences, Indigenous studies, and natural sciences. Students choose between a Thesis route, completed in two years full-time or up to four years flex-time, and a Major Research Paper route, completed in one year full-time or up to three years flex-time. Coursework includes fieldwork, community-partnered research, and electives such as Northern Tourism. The programme admits new students in the Fall and Winter terms. Graduates pursue careers and further study in environmental research, conservation, policy, and resource management, applying both scientific and community-based approaches to environmental problem solving.
