Diploma in General Studies

The Diploma in General Studies at Okanagan College recognizes individualized achievement across a broad range of coursework rather than a single fixed curriculum. Students select courses aligned with their personal and academic goals, building a two-year foundation of knowledge and experience suited to their own learning path while keeping the credits eligible for transfer to other post-secondary institutions. The diploma suits students who want flexibility to explore multiple subject areas, are transferring credit from another institution, or are working toward requirements for a specific program before formal admission. Admission requires British Columbia secondary school graduation or equivalent and English 12 at a minimum of 60%; mature applicants aged 19 or over may have the graduation requirement waived if they meet the English requirement before classes start, and transfer students may receive credit for prior post-secondary coursework.
