Overview
This Red Seal apprenticeship trains registered apprentices already working in the collision repair trade to assess vehicle body damage, prepare repair estimates and plans, and carry out structural and cosmetic repairs. Technical training is organized into four levels delivered at the Kelowna Trades Complex: a seven-week first level followed by three six-week levels, roughly 25 weeks of classroom and shop instruction in total, on a full-time, block-release basis with multiple intakes staggered through 2027 and 2028 and each session limited to 16 seats. Across the four levels the curriculum moves from workplace safety and welding through metal and plastic panel repair, refinishing preparation, structural correction, and mechanical and electrical components, finishing with glass installation. To enrol, a student must already be registered as an apprentice with SkilledTradesBC and employed by a shop with at least one qualified journeyperson supervising their on-the-job hours; the college notes that employer registration for this purpose is free and quick to complete online. The program suits working apprentices who need the in-class technical component of their apprenticeship rather than newcomers to the trade, and apprentices can draw on WorkBC supports, EI benefits, and Canada Apprentice Loans while attending.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through EducationPlannerBC (a $30 CAD fee): Okanagan College sets no fixed closing date for most programmes in the 2026-27/2027-28 cycle. Applications for a Fall intake open at 8:30 a.m. on October's first business day of the preceding year, and for a Winter intake at 8:30 a.m. on February's first business day of the preceding year (exceptions apply); Practical Nursing's January intake opens at 9:00 a.m. on April's first business day of the preceding year. Most programmes accept applications until seats fill, though Nursing and Dental programmes set their own fixed or ranked deadlines on their own pages. International applicants also apply through EducationPlannerBC, paying a $100 CAD per-programme fee; the College publishes no institution-wide international closing date and directs applicants to each programme's own page.
