The Diploma in Christian Formation is a two-year, 60-credit program at Prairie College that combines biblical and theological study with training in discipleship and spiritual care. The program equips students to listen well, offer spiritual care to others, and appraise contemporary therapies and spiritual practices against a Christian theological framework. It sets graduates up to continue directly into the four-year Bachelor of Ministry in Christian Formation, or to transfer into other Prairie programs such as Intercultural Studies. Graduates go on to further education in counselling or social work, support roles in addictions, rehabilitation, or mental health services, discipleship and small-group ministry leadership as a church pastor or camp director, or para-church chaplaincy. An optional seven-week Frontier Lodge experience in the Canadian Rockies is available as part of the program for an additional fee.
